Yola

Yola, historically known as the Forth and Bargy dialect, was a form of Middle English spoken in the baronies of Forth and Bargy located in County Wexford, Ireland. The dialect is now extinct, though it was likely similar to the Fingallian dialect of the Fingal area. Both dialects became functionally extinct during the 19th century as speakers gradually adopted modern Hiberno-English. The term yola itself derives from a word meaning 'old' within the dialect. In contemporary times, various efforts have been undertaken to revive and preserve this historical dialect.
